India win Austrlia in 3rd ODI

In the third one day international of hero honda cup 2009, India proved their supremacy over Australia by winning the visitors with a 5 wicket margin. India recorded their biggest win in terms of wickets against Australia in 3rd ODI at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi.Yuvraj Singh and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni produced scintillating knocks on a tricky track as India recovered from early jolts to spank Australia by six wickets in the third cricket one-dayer and take a 2-1 lead in the seven-match series here on Saturday.

Australia won the toss and elects to bat first. Australia set the target of 230 runs after loosing 5 wickets. India started their innings very slowly and India's first wicket in 37 overs as the score Virender Sehwag fell. Sehwag made 11 and bowled Johnson. After that The game was evenly balanced mid way during the chase with India in consolidation mode at 101 for 3, but Yuvraj and Dhoni slowly and surely pulled India ahead. They batted with restraint while settling in on this track because, as Michael Hussey proved earlier during an unbeaten 81, batting got easier with more time spent on it.

Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni sealed a 2-1 lead over Australia with a stylish batting display on a tricky wicket at the Kotla Stadium. The duo joined forces with India tottering at 53-3 chasing 230. A steady partnership built on hard running and the occasional boundary was needed. Dhoni led the way, Yuvraj followed, and their fourth-wicket partnership slowly swelled to 148 runs to settle the game to Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni shared a serene 148-run stand help India win a battle of attrition on a sluggish track at the Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi and take a 2-1 lead in the seven-ODI series.

Fish Oil Prevents Heart Stroke

Scientists after their specific research on heart stroke have ended up submitting a report that states that fish oil protects us from heart stroke. This suggests that increasing the levels of omega-3 fatty acids in carotid artery plaques could either prevent strokes or improve the safety of treatment. This may be accomplished by increasing dietary intake of foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids. The study is an Article in Press in the journal, Vascular Pharmacology, currently online.

Our bodies produce only a small amount of omega-3 fatty acids, so most of what we need has to come from eating omega-3 fatty acid-rich foods like fish (salmon, tuna, trout, herring, etc.) or from supplements. Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to protect against cardiovascular disease, particularly heart attack and sudden cardiac death. Dr. Bazan’s team wanted to determine what the association might be with plaques in the carotid arteries, a common cause of strokes. Vulnerable plaques which can rupture in the carotid arteries may lead to transient ischemic attacks (TIAs), strokes, or vision loss by affecting the artery to the retina.

The mechanisms leading to plaque rupture are still not fully understood but inflammation within the plaque is beginning to be recognized as an important cause of plaque rupture. Nearly 25% of strokes occur in people under the age of 65. Of all ischemic strokes occurring, carotid artery atherosclerotic plaques account for over a third of them. It has been noted for several decades that the southeastern United States has the highest stroke mortality in the country. It is not completely clear what factors might contribute to the higher incidence and mortality from stroke in this region.

Origin of Unseen Universe

World'd fastest super computer model called Road Runner model is by far the latest model that projects the origin of unseen universe. Let us have a close look at it in this post. The model is one of the largest simulations of the distribution of matter in the universe, and aims to look at galaxy-scale mass concentrations above and beyond quantities seen in state-of-the-art sky surveys.

The Roadrunner Universe model relies on a hierarchical grid/particle algorithm that best matches the physical aspects of the simulation to the hybrid architecture of Roadrunner. Habib and his team wrote an entirely new computer code that aggressively exploits Roadrunner's hybrid architecture and makes full use of the PowerXCell 8i computational accelerators. They also created a dedicated analysis and visualization software framework to handle the huge simulation database.

Because the universe is expanding and at the same time accelerating, either there is a huge gap in our understanding of physics, or there is a strange new form of matter that dominates the universe -- 'dark energy' -- making up about 70 percent of it," said Habib. "In addition, there is five times more of an unknown 'dark matter' than there is ordinary matter in the universe, and we know it's there from many different observations, most spectacularly, we've seen it bend light in pictures from the Hubble Space Telescope, but its origin is also not understood."

Even though it's looking at only a small segment of the "accessible" universe, Habib's "Roadrunner Universe" model requires a petascale computer because, like the universe, it's mind-bendingly large. The model's basic unit is a particle with a mass of approximately one billion suns and it includes 64 billion and more of those particles.

The Age of Dinosaurs

It is widely believed that dinosaurs ruled the earth some 160 million years ago. Is that true??? Had dinosaurs really existed???? Let's examine it now. Dinosaur is the name of a group of prehistoric reptiles. These animals died out millions of years ago, but they have fascinated people ever since they were first described in the early 1800's. The name dinosaur comes from the term Dinosauria, which means terrible lizards. But dinosaurs were not lizards, only distantly related to them, and most were not very terrible.

For many years, people thought that dinosaurs were clumsy, slow-moving, unintelligent creatures that lived much like modern reptiles. However, fossil evidence suggests that some dinosaurs—especially small theropods—were much more active and intelligent than previously thought. In addition, scientists generally agree that small theropods are the closest known relatives to birds. Thus, scientists can learn much about the life of dinosaurs by studying birds and other modern animals that have some similarity to dinosaurs.

While dinosaurs ruled the land during the Mesozoic Era, many kinds of large reptiles inhabited the sea and air. Sea-dwelling reptiles included ichthyosaurs , which resembled dolphins in shape and probably could swim fast. Mosasaurs enormous sea lizards that lived during the late Cretaceous Period, which ended about 65 million years ago. They grew up to 30 feet long. Plesiosaurs had four large flippers and a short tail. Many plesiosaurs also had an extremely long neck.

Flying reptiles called pterosaurs became the first vertebrates to evolve flapping flight, the kind of flight later used by most birds. Each of a pterosaur's wings consisted of a membrane of skin supported by a long finger made of hollow bones. Pterosaurs had no feathers, but hairlike structures probably covered their bodies. Some pterosaurs ranked as the largest flying animals of all time, reaching a wingspan of 40 feet .

A look on Facebook

What is Facebook? Facebook is nothing but a social utility that connects peoples with their friends and others who live anywhere in the world. The advent of Facebook came about as a spin-off of a Harvard University version of Hot or Not called FacemashUsers can add friends and send them messages, and update their personal profiles to notify friends about themselves. Additionally, users can join networks organized by city, workplace, school, and region.

Facebook has met with some controversy. It has been blocked intermittently in several countries including Syria, Chinaand Iran.It has also been banned at many places of work to discourage employees from wasting time using the service. Privacy has also been an issue, and it has been compromised several times. Facebook is also facing several lawsuits from a number of Zuckerberg's former classmates, who claim that Facebook had stolen their source code and other intellectual property.

Users can join and create up to 200 groups according to their interests or areas of expertise. It will appear in the search results of Facebook if the group is on public.Users can choose fan pages according to their interests to connect and interact with other strangers. Users can set their profiles on private so as to prevent acquaintances from contacting them. Users can also set their profiles on public. This allows close friends to send messages and add the user as a friend. It lets users update their personal profiles to notify their close friends about themselves. They can also join networks organized by city, workplace, school, and region to connect and interact with their close friends. Public profiles also allow any stranger or acquaintance to contact the user which results in lack of privacy. Public profiles can be blocked by any user but private profiles cannot.

Lovely Miami Beach

Hello Friends! In this post i would like to speak on the World's longest and most popular beach "Miami beach". Miami Beach is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The city is often referred to under the umbrella term of "Miami," despite being a distinct municipality. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 87,933. 55.5% of the population was foreign born. A 2005 population estimate for the city was 87,925. Miami Beach has been one of America's pre-eminent beach resorts for almost a century.

South Beach (also known as SoBe, or simply The Beach the area from 1st street to about 25th street) is one of the more popular areas of Miami Beach. Topless sunbathing is tolerated on certain designated areas of the beach. Before the TV show Miami Vice helped make the area popular, SoBe was under urban blight, with vacant buildings and a high crime rate. Today, it is considered one of the richest commercial areas on the beach, yet poverty and crime still remain in some places near the area. Miami Beach, particularly Ocean Drive of what is now the Art Deco District, was also featured prominently in the 1983 feature film Scarface and the Birdcage.

The New World Symphony Orchestra is based in Miami Beach, Florida, under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas.

Happy Gandhi Jayanthi

" In the attitude of silence the soul finds the path in a clearer light, and what is elusive and deceptive resolves itself into crystal clearness. Our life is a long and arduous quest after Truth."

The wonderful quote that is mentioned above is said by the Indian father, " The Great Mahatma Gandhi", the lovable person who followed non violence policy to help India get freedom. The Great mahatma is well known for his principles and honesty. The man with a lion heart who fought for the freedom of India. The whole of India is celebrating Gandhiji's birthday today!

"Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed. Always aim at purifying your thoughts and everything will be well."

He lived his life in a simple way but has enabled us to lead a independent happy life. I would like to thank him from my heart for jis wonderful service to our nation. It is the duty of every indian citizen to follow the path shown by the legend. Wish you all a very happy Gandhi Jayanthi. Jai Hind!
